2017 Ride date is Sunday the 3rd of September

2017 will be a big year for Debdencycle. The Debdencycle in September in aid of The Royal Engineers starts and finishes at Carver Barracks and has a highly revised route from 2016. I say ride but there are still 35 or 50 mile distances to choose from. Whichever distance you take on, it’s not a race, it’s a ride out to enjoy the countryside of Essex, Herts & Cambs whilst supporting serving and ex-serving men and women.

How the Debdencycle 3 Counties ride on September the 3rd operates:

Meet up from 8am at Carver Barracks CB102YA using the airfield entrance where ample parking is available on the runway. Toilets, teas and coffees also available at the start/finish. Both of the rides start off at the same time (10:30) winding through beautiful country lanes from Debden. Both routes pass through Newport to Arkesden and then split at Duddenhoe End.The 50 mile route goes out past Elmdon and back via Shaftenhoe End where they meet up again with the 35 mile route shortly before the lunch stop at The Woodman Nuthampstead. The return leg sees all riders staying together through the Hormeads, then splitting again in Furneux Pelham with the 50 mile route swinging a wider southerly arc down to Hazel end and then back up through Rickling. The riders come together again in Wendens Ambo for the return to Carver Barracks.

You can now download specific route maps

We have two Facebook pages. All ride day specific information i.e. Maps, GPX file links etc can be found on our Facebook page Debdencycle Community and we have a more general day to day and comments Facebook page, Debdencycle Lindsell

That’s not all that’s happening in 2017 for the Debdencycle team

In addition Hannah and I will be tackling a European tour over eight days, passing through four countries. As with our Debden to Cornwall adventures we’ll be carrying everything we need and camping along the way, plus we’ll be updating you each day via Facebook. There will be an accompanying YouTube ride guide to sit alongside our previous ride guides and others we plan to film during the year. For now you can see guides for The Lea Valley to the Thames, Northampton to Market Harborough and the epic Cambridge to Ely. You can download the routes for the rides by going to the Sat Nav routes page on this website.
For more ride information see our facebook pages, Debdencycle Lindsell and Debdencycle Community.
